About the Role<\/b>

Copper Quail Global is partnering with a market -leading mining group<\/b> seeking an experienced Sustainability Director<\/b> to drive its environmental, social, and governance (ESG)<\/b> strategy across a major African mining operation.
<\/p>
This pivotal role will lead sustainability initiatives, oversee ESG reporting and community programs, and ensure alignment with international sustainability frameworks<\/b>. You’ll work closely with executive leadership to embed responsible mining practices that deliver long -term social and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities<\/b>
<\/h3>
Develop and execute the company’s sustainability and ESG strategy<\/b>.
<\/p><\/li>
Oversee environmental stewardship<\/b>, climate resilience, and biodiversity programs.
<\/p><\/li>
Lead resettlement and community development<\/b> initiatives.
<\/p><\/li>
Manage ESG reporting, data systems, and stakeholder engagement.
<\/p><\/li>
Align operations with IFC Performance Standards<\/b> and Equator Principles<\/b>.

Qualifications & Experience<\/b>
<\/h3>
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree<\/b> in Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field.
<\/p><\/li>
10+ years’ experience<\/b> in sustainability leadership<\/b> within mining or heavy industry.
<\/p><\/li>
Proven track record in ESG strategy, community engagement, and resettlement projects<\/b>.
<\/p><\/li>
Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
